APCTT, in cooperation with the Korea
Research Institute of Bioscience and
Biotechnology (KRIBB); Ministry of
Science, Technology and Environment
(MOSTE), Government of Viet Nam and
the National Institute of Agricultural
Genetics and Biotechnology organized
the BINASIA national workshop on 27
& 28 January 2005 in Hanoi, Viet
Nam. The workshop was held to promote
BINASIA and participation of national
stakeholders in the development and
use of BINASIA. Dr. Bui Ba Bong, Vice
Minister, Ministry of Agriculture
and Rural Development delivered the
key-note address followed by presentations
from experts under the following session
themes: Role of Government in the
development and transfer of biotechnology;
biotechnology development: opportunities
and challenges; and Technology transfer
and innovation management. The workshop
was attended by more than 60 participants
from R&D institutes, key ministry
(agriculture, industry, S&T, etc.)
officials dealing with biotechnology,
and educational institutions.
