Background
In economically developing Asia, the
use of competitive and environment-
friendly technologies presents a viable
option for attaining economic development
goals that address the growing needs
for quality living of their population,
without comprising further the health
of already fragile life support systems.
Advanced science and technology (S&T)
fields, like biotechnology, materials
science, information technology and
microelectronics are at the forefront
of technological innovations that
could provide competitiveness and
strategic advantage for resource -rich
developing countries. These S&
T fields find broad areas of application
in agriculture, industry and the service
sectors of the economy and likewise
in environmental management and conservation.
Objectives
The Programme aims to bring the technology
providers and seekers on a common
platform to forge business partnerships
in order to attain economic competitiveness
and sustainable development through
acquisition and utilization of environment-
friendly technologies.
Focus
The area of focus is on Biotechnology
and Food processing in the following
sectors:
- Fermentation Technologies.
- Pharmaceutical, Medical &
Enzymatic Technologies.
- Genetic Engineering.
- Agriculture & Animal Feed
Stuff.
- Dairy Processing.
- Beverages.
- Environment & Waste Management.
- Protein Products and Feed Additives.
The technology exhibition would be
an ideal venue to improve the terms
of technology transfer and business
opportunities particularly to small
and medium enterprises in Asia -Pacific
region.
A compendium of technology profiles
offered would be compiled and disseminated
during the event.
Exhibition
space
Each participant would be allocated
an international standard booth space
(3x4=12 sq.mtrs) to display the technologies
and products free of charge on first
come first serve basis. However, a
nominal registration fee of US$200
per institution/company is required
to be paid towards confirmation of
participation.
