Seminar on
"Knowledge Management",

The above seminar was organized by
the Center for Technology Management
(CTM) of the PSG Institute of Management,
Coimbatore with sponsorship from Technology
Management Division, Department of
Scientific and Industrial Research
(DSIR) of the Ministry of Science
and Technology, New Delhi and APCTT.
The seminar focused on the following:
- Improving the ability of the company
to gain right information at the
right time;
- Implementing successful Knowledge
Management strategies for business
success; and
- Strengthening Technology and Knowledge
Management Capabilities of Small
and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in
Developing Countries
Participants were mainly executives,
sr. managers and entrepreneurs from
industries and faculty members from
engineering colleges and management
schools.

Result
: The CTM Coimbatore with the support
from DSIR will undertake Technology
Assessment studies in one or two sectors
relating to submergible pumps and
castings.
Workshop on
"Technology & Knowledge Management
in Small & Medium Industries,
14-15 February 2001, Trivandrum. Kerala
The workshop was organized at Trivandrum
jointly with DSIR, Department of Industries
and Commerce, Kerala, Kerala Bureau
for Industrial Promotion (K-BIP),
APCTT, Energy Management Center (EMC)
and Technology Assessment Network
(TAN), Kerala. Hon'ble Minister for
Industries and Social Welfare, Smt.
Suseela Gopalan inaugurated the workshop.
Mr. K. Mohan Das, Principal Secretary,
Industries Department, Government
of Kerala presided over the programme.
The target audience was representatives
from small and medium scale industries,
R&D organizations, technical institutes
and consultants. The faculty was from
DSIR, APCTT, Industries Department,
local industries and consultancy organizations
working in this field.

: The Technology Assessment Network
(TAN) and the Kerala Bureau for Industrial
Promotion (K-BIP) will jointly evolve
Technology Management Demonstration
Projects for SMEs in the areas relating
to food processing and herbal medicines.
