HIGHLIGHTS
Venue: New "International Exhibition Centre", which is being built at the cost of Rmb 200 million, in Jinan, China

Participants: National and foreign IT experts, entrepreneurs and exhibitors from both the developing and developed countries, S&T agencies, Managers of IT parks, Venture Capital organizations, etc.

Exhibition space: 20,000 square meters 1000 (international standard show booths)

Conference area: 6000 square meter

Conference hall: To accommodate 600 persons Simultaneous translation in Chinese and English will be made available

UNESCAP/APCTT booth: 1000-2000 square meters which would project the IT developments and capabilities of SMEs and promotional Agencies in the Asian region

JINAN: Famous for "City of springs" and is also the capital of Shandong Province. It has a population of around 6 million people. The per capita income is approximately US$2000 and is rich in physical and human resources.

CONTACT PROGRAMMES (INTERACTION MEETING IN SELECTED COUNTRIES): APCTT in cooperation with the organizers is organizing five interaction meetings at Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad during first week of August 2002 to promote this international event and facilitate participation of potential IT entrepreneurs and experts working in this field. Similarly meeting(s) are also planned in Malaysia during second week of August. There is substantial scope for promoting joint ventures and collaborative programmes among developing countries which would enhance the competitiveness of IT and other manufacturing sector. The delegation will be headed by Mr. Xu Huadong, Vice Mayor, Jinan Municipal Government.
