Rationale
The UNESCAP Asian and Pacific
Centre for Technology Transfer (APCTT)
has developed the Technology4SME portal
and offers its support to its members
to establish their national technology
transfer services in the web by linking
with the APCTT's portal. APCTT is
in the process of helping nations
within the region who have committed
to establish their linkage to the
network.
The envisioned INTET Phil. Information
System shall provide solutions fit.
It is aimed at promoting the flow
of environmentally sound technologies
to SMEs. Members of the network can
become part of the flow of ESTs within
the APCTT network and benefit from
the innovations that is taking place
in many parts of the globe. The system
also shall provide a step-by-step
guide how to undertake techno transfer
with other members of the system/portals/asia
pacific. The seminar includes a walk-through
into the system. The seminar will
highlight the tools available in the
system for individual and organizational
advancement
The Tech Transfer services available
in the country can be linked/networked
into an Information System, so that
Technology Transfer users can easily
access them. The premise is that,
these TT service providers are willing
to provide their services to SMEs.
The portal becomes a "market"
where there are TT service "sellers"
and "buyers". The system
provides an organized and logical
system of services presentation, and
a means for facilitating online negotiations
and collaborations. It is geared more
toward EST advancement rather than
market activities for products.
Some locally applicable TT policies
and systems can be unique to the Philippine's
site. This supplements the internationally
available coaching already made available
in APCTT and in other national sites
within the region. New developments
from a TT agency can be featured in
the Philippine site. Articles for
SME and EST that is of great significance
can be featured from time to time.
Adoption of new TT schemes can easily
take place when sharing of info is
opened between local TT agencies and
the international network of UN-APCTT.
As TT agents get exposed to other
TT agents and clients of other agencies,
new schemes can be adopted and possible
collaborative TT mechanisms can evolve
among TT agencies internationally.
The seminar will aim to get a core
group of stakeholders for the putting
up of the INTET Philippines node.
Additional information for international
networking, opportunities for collaborations
and the program is available in the
attached annexes.
