Background
With a view to promote sharing of
information on various aspects of
traditional medicines and herbal technology
and to enhance technical and industrial
cooperation among enterprises and
R&D institutions in the Asia-Pacific
region. APCTT initiated the proposal
to establish the Asia Pacific Traditional
Medicine Network (APTMNET).
Aim &
Objectives
The Expert Group Meeting will finalize
the action plan based on the proposal
for operationalization of the network
and construction of nodal stations
participating in member countries.
The network will promote sharing of
experiences and expertise in information
exchange aspects relating to development
and commercialization of traditional
medicine and herbal drug technologies
in Asia-Pacific region.
The specific objectives are to :
- deliberate on the progress made
with regard to the establishment
of the Asia-Pacific Traditional
and Herbal Medicine Network
- work out the website framework
and the modalities and working mechanism
of nodal centers in each of the
participating countries of the Asia-Pacific
region
- identify duties and responsibilities
of the Project Coordinator of the
nodal centre is each country
- evolve technology transfer programmes
to further enhance sub-regional
and regional cooperation at institutional
and enterprises level.
Organization
of the Meeting
The Expert Group Meeting is being
jointly organized by APCTT, the Ministry
of Science and Technology (MOST),
China and the Hubei Provincial Department
of Science and Technology, China .

Participants
The experts recommended by nodal
agencies from member countries would
participate and present their country(ies)
initiatives in relevant areas as well
as follow-up initiatives contemplated
in establishing the above network.
