APCTT
has developed a state-of-the-art Information
Centre to provide technology information services,
with internet access, to small and medium-scale
entrepreneurs. The Information Centre provides
the following services:
Access
to the internet under expert supervision;
Access
to the APCTT technology database and
other relevant national and international
databases available on-line;
Assistance
in identifying national and international
information services;
Reference
services;
Referral
services; and
Information
packages for members.
In its endeavour to
keep the Information Centre current and user-friendly,
APCTT made continual efforts to:
Increase
its database, in coordination with other
good databases and libraries around
the world;
Sort
and select the information out of this
massive database, to make it most relevant
and useful to would-be users;
Use
the most advanced communication systems
to ensure that data is current and accurate;
and
Use
the best computer software to make the
information user-friendly and quickly
retrievable for practical use.
In order to enhance
its information exchange capabilities, APCTT:
Maintains
internet partnerships with international
databases and information services;
Exchanges
environmental information regularly
via internet/list/e-mail;
Increase
periodically information volume and
accessibility;
Strengthens regional networks; and
Establishes
partnerships and technology transfer
agencies, networks and information services.
